This thermal protective performance tester is designed to test the thermal protective and insulation performance of flame-retardant protective clothing, fire-fighting suits, fire boots, gloves, and helmet exteriors when exposed to radiant and convective heat sources. The material testing machine supports calculations for TPP (Thermal Protective Performance) values, TPE (Thermal Protective Evaluation) tests, and the FFF (Fabric Flammability Factor) algorithm.

Working Principle
Under a specified heat flux, the thermal protective performance tester derives the second-degree burn time from the intersection of the response curve (calorimetric sensor temperature rise curve) and Stoll curve (human tissue tolerance curve). Higher product of heat flux level and second-degree burn time indicates superior thermal protection of the fabric.
